“Standing in the hall of shame” – The five Arsenal players who regressed a ton this season

Player 5 – Denis Suárez

This is definitely something debatable, provided that he’s just a loanee from Barcelona this January. Despite that, he has yet to make an impact on the team and didn’t get many chances to prove himself.

Having worked with Emery in Sevilla before, I expected Denis to be able to get chances to be in the starting lineup. And I wrote an article about this before on this platform. The reality, though, proved me wrong.

More often than not, he’s either seen on the bench or injured, which is honestly worrying. Luckily, Denis’ deal is just a loan and the purchase option isn’t obligatory, so Emery can save the cash to buy someone else.

The player himself, though, need to think about his future after a few months in London. Where can he go when he’s currently seen as a surplus asset at Barcelona with talents like Arthur, Aleñá and Coutinho?
